The University of Alberta’s new graduate student music journal, Intonations, has launched and is making its first general call for papers! The journal strives for an interdisciplinary focus within the various domains of music study as well as across other academic fields in the arts, humanities, and sciences. We welcome papers covering all aspects of music including, but not limited to:

Intonations, an online peer-reviewed graduate music journal, was launched by the Department of Music at the University of Alberta in February 2019. In September 2019, Intonations expanded to include the Department of Drama and the Department of Art and Design. The journal strives for an interdisciplinary focus both within the various domains of the Fine Arts and across other academic fields in the arts, humanities, and sciences.
Intonations aspires to serve as an effective sounding board for all areas of Fine Arts research, including, but not limited to:
•ethnomusicology, musicology, music theory, composition, popular music studies, performance, philosophy and aesthetics of music, music technology, music pedagogy, music cognition, and interdisciplinary studies;
•theatre practice, directing, performance studies, theatre history, voice pedagody, critical theatre theories and critical methodologies;
•history of art, architecture, design, and visual culture, drawing, intermedia, painting, sculpture, performance, installation, conceptual art, art praxis research and theory, research-creation, visual communication design, book arts, web and app design, illustration.
