About Intonations
Intonations, an online peer-reviewed graduate student journal, is a joint project at the University of Alberta between the Department of Music, Department of Drama and the Department of Art and Design. The journal strives for an interdisciplinary focus both within the various domains of the Fine Arts and across other academic fields in the arts, humanities, and sciences.
Intonations aspires to serve as an effective sounding board for all areas of Fine Arts research, including, but not limited to:
•ethnomusicology, musicology, music theory, composition, popular music studies, performance, philosophy and aesthetics of music, music technology, music pedagogy, music cognition, and interdisciplinary studies;
•theatre practice, directing, performance studies, theatre history, voice pedagody, critical theatre theories and critical methodologies;
•history of art, architecture, design, and visual culture, drawing, intermedia, painting, sculpture, performance, installation, conceptual art, art praxis research and theory, research-creation, visual communication design, book arts, web and app design, illustration.
